1. Jawan
The director Atlee, did his best to bring a societal concern into focus throughout the film. Shah Rukh Khan had a powerful comeback and played a double role. The story mainly focuses on a fight against corruption. The casting has other premium actors including, South Indian stars like Nayantara, Vijay Sethupathi and others like Deepika Padukone, Sania Malhotra, Priyamani and many more. 2. Pathaan
The film is of an action thriller genre set in the spy universe of YRF. The film was directed by Siddharth Anand and it was produced by Aditya Chopra. The ISI agent is played by Deepika Padukone of the name Rubina Mohsin, SRK and John Abraham takes the roles of ex-raw agents of the name Pathaan and Jim, respectively. John Abraham had already taken up a villain role in the 2020 movie called ‘Malang’. He reappears as a negative character who is seeking revenge against the Indian government. The lead characters join to stop him from his pursuit to destroy India. It crossed over INR 1050 crores globally.
3. Animal
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film became a huge commercial hit. The movie is of the action and drama genre. The story revolves around Ranvijay Singh, who would do anything to protect his father and explores the complicated dynamic of a father-son relationship. The movie features many popular actors like Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and even Tripti Dimri. Bobby Deol received massive attention, making it a strong comeback for him. The film crossed over 910 crores, making it the third highest-grossing film in Bollywood in the year.
4. Gadar 2
Gadar 2 was released in August. It crossed over INR 690 crores and became a huge commercial success. The premise of the film is set in 1971, when the Indo-Pak War happened. The lead character, Tara Singh, goes to Pakistan to rescue his imprisoned son. The movie was played by the same stars as its prequel, including Sunny Deol.
5. Tiger 3
This was a movie fans had been waiting for since ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. The genres include action and thriller. It is an installment in the YRF spy universe. The fan favourites Salman Khan, Emraan Hashmi and Katrina Kaif united for this action piece.
The story is a sequel after the events in ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’, etc. The main characters Tiger and Zoya, get entangled in a false feud with an ex-ISI agent called, Aatish Rehman. 7. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani
The national awardee Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh were the lead actors in the film. It is a Bollywood rom-com, directed by the romantic drama veteran himself, Karan Johar.
It is an interesting love story revolving around the classic theme of how opposite individuals attract. The movie also covers other generic issues like gender role expectations. 9. The Kerala Story
The movie was a dramatised version of real-time incidents. The story was about a few Keralite women, who were trapped and brainwashed by terrorist recruiters. The story continues to reveal their journey to the Islamic State by force or will. The lead role was played by Adah Sharma. She is known for her action movies. The film also received critical reviews for its controversial subject. But the director Sudipto Sen, believes in his work, and the movie is recognised on global platforms.
10. The movie- OMG 2
Directed by Amit Rai, the story emphasises having sex education in India. It is a blend of satire and drama and became a box office hit, crossing INR 221 crores internationally. It stars the fan favourites Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and the Mirzapur star Pankaj Tripathi. It is the second instalment of the first film called, ‘OMG-Oh my God’. That movie was released in 2012.
