A Detailed Review on the 5 Stars AC Units in India

It is very important to have a knowledge of the latest and most efficient forms of air conditioning systems available today if you are thinking of buying one for your household or business. Every year, India has one of the hottest summer temperatures, and the need for more eco-friendly and effective air conditioning equipment is apparent across the entire country.

Inverter technology

The market for air conditioning units is changing, and the number of technologies developed to power air conditioning systems might be confusing because there are so many alternatives. The inverter technology that has been recently developed is the most prominent step towards efficiency in air conditioning systems. The inverter technology manages the frequency, and it increases the compressor life of the AC. The older ACs used to turn off their compressors when the temperature was reached and when the temperature rose about a certain threshold, they would switch on their compressor and start cooling again. This lead to excessive wear in the compressor, and the maintenance cost rose.

The inverter technology negates this phenomenon by constant running the compressor. The Air conditioning unit runs the compressor, and when the temperature is reached, the compressor slows down, which brings down the unit’s cooling capacity. The compressor keeps on running with the decreased speed, and thus, the fluctuation in temperatures is not seen readily. When the temperature rises, the compressor speed increases, and the unit’s cooling capacity increases with it. This cycle keeps on happening till the air conditioning unit is kept running. The variation in the compressor speed decreases the vibrations in the compressor and results in smooth operations. The process is also crucial in saving electricity as with the variation in the compressor speed, the consumption of electrical energy also varies.

BEE rating

One of the biggest contributors that catalyse the destructive process of global warming is air conditioning systems and refrigeration systems. Furthermore, it is evident that in the event of the rising temperature, the demand for the installation of air conditioning units rises too. Therefore, it is optimal to opt for the air conditioning units derived from the most recent technology that saves the environment, is the most efficient, and produces fewer greenhouse gases. This is measured using the stars provided by an agency in India named Bureau of Energy Efficiency or BEE for short. The appliances in the market get rated between one to five, where one is the least efficient, and five is the most efficient. In the world of electronics, when power from a supply given to a circuit is of a certain magnitude. It is likely that the output power is always less than the input power but never the same. This occurs due to losses and certain inefficiencies within the system. Therefore, the five-star rated appliances ensure that the input and output power difference is minimum.

Comparison between 5-star a 2-star

If we were to compare the two air conditioners on an average based on their power consumption, with the only difference being their star rating, then for a 1-ton ac 5 star, the power consumption is about 1kWh, and when we consider a 1-ton 2-star ac, it consumes about 1.17kWh. Although, this figure doesn’t look much because it is an hourly difference. This creates a lot of energy efficiency difference when these comparisons are made for a month or a year.

The star rating system on the appliance is a very good indicator of the system’s efficiency when it comes to its power consumption. Therefore, it is a good practice to purchase appliances implementing the latest technology to get maximum efficiency. In this case, a split air conditioning system with the inverter technology-based flow with a 5-star rating would be the best solution to maintain high efficiency for utilising air conditioning systems for a longer period. Therefore, it is highly recommended to opt for air conditioners with 5-star ratings.
